Beautiful Colors or Colorful Beauties

We have heard, we keep hearing and often repeat this each time maybe whenever we choose to be humble that beauty lies in the eye of the beholder. Some truth in it and yet as years go by vanity and company assume enormous proportions. Why??

i see so many beauties together in one place and think about the judges/ jury in any international beauty pageant. They must be finding it very difficult to single out the best from the rest and therefore the questioning round.

As i stood gazing at the beauties around me i begin to question too, "Does beauty truly lie in the eye of the beholder?"  Thoughts take over wherever and whenever. Even when you'd rather be thoughtless.
Some anxiety there when the question remains unanswered. Or rather i have known the answer all along but have not had either the need to accept or the honesty to agree. So i quickly brush away the flustering thoughts and start playing Color Color What Color Do You Choose??

i choose to stare for a long time and wonder if i can give this color any one name. First i thought it looked fluorescent pink but it also seemed like glowing lavender. The luminosity was baffling and for want of anything better i preferred to call it the non-conformist pink. i stood there as if struck by some openness which felt non-threatening. i felt not only space and freedom, but hope too. Something about the luminosity that declared everything should be fine and okay.
And Heaven alone knows why i thought of gossamer and naivete.
Admiration, respect, innocence, intuition...so many words in my thoughts.
i move on and the game branched off into another sub-game. Consequently in this game and sub game i was both- the jury and a wannabe.
Can i single out the best
Was the non-conformist the one?
 Or is it this one-
The pure, innocent clean White. Neutral and easily mixing. You sure do look so spiritual even with the magenta. Inspiring! this wholeness, this completeness.
i must use your combination in my next creation.

How about this one-
The joyous, youthful, vibrant, stimulating and friendly... Pink. Look at you ! no wonder then the phrase ' pink of health'. Just lemme think as to whether i own anything in the same combination...

Ahh there you are again- Immaculate White
Angelic, healing, loyal, balanced and harmonious. Don't you symbolize new beginnings and clarity of purpose. Wait a minute...also heroism and goodness. i wonder why each and every time i have to buy something for myself i start looking towards the whites. Maybe i too want to look angelic just like you.

Playful aren't you. Content with the subtle rays that make you glow you sure are tickling me Pink. i am beginning to feel romantic as your tenderness is contagious...
Some have commented that you suit my complexion too. Must have more of you then.

You! magical royal mystery!! you definitely are my favorite color. And although you appear wealthy and sensational you somehow bring me peace. i remember one fact about you. You Purple/Violet vibrating at the highest frequency are on the top of the visible color spectrum. i love everything associated with you. You would be knowing then that even my favorite fragrance has your color. lavender! lavender! lavender!
And if there is life after death i would love to be born your color. Wouldn't mind being the less exotic Jacaranda by the roadside.
How come in all these years of loving you sincerely i don't have anything of your color to wear?

Oh! if all browns look like you then i don't mind. Brown you are wholesome, earthy, stable and reliable. My sincere apologies for not giving you enough appreciation earlier but now you no longer seem sorry to me. i find you appealing, attractive and very approachable these days. i am looking forward to owning something of you. Some or at least one of what they say in Japanese as tea colored, or fox-colored and even the color of the fallen leaf. Yeah! the Japanese do not have one word for you Brown. For them you could be any of these.

Hello pale Peach!! looking at you brings one word to the mind-Modesty. You make me think of the soft blush on a girl's face. Charming and elegant you instill genuineness and gratitude. i have always loved you. And although you seem dainty and delicate there is something in you that emanates harmony sociability, friendliness and abundant warmth.
And boy! am i glad i do have a chiffon that closely resembles you.

Hey Sunshine! you always, just always bring happiness,warmth... joy. i have to tell you this. There was no malice when we made you rhyme with dirty fellow. You know that don't you. It was just another harmless prank this " Yellow! Yellow! dirty fellow...". The word joy has a color thanks to you. And even when we played those pranks using your name we felt happy.
Welcoming and cheerful we still use your freshness when we have to heal someone back to good health. Did you know that for me and perhaps others the fragrance CITRUS has a color too, your color.
My latest creation on my dress has you all over and as of now it remains my favorite dress with the most pleasing bulls eye combination-Yellow with White.

Blue ! Blue! polish my shoe. Just kidding.
Reserved, quiet, you always seek peace and tranquility. i am beginning to think that being in the blues is not so bad after all. You do hate confrontation and like to do things your own way. And sometimes having the blues rescues from more when some quiet moments are spent in reflection.
Oh Blue you make me contemplate. Why is it because you look responsible and wise? Or is it because you look idealistic inspiring higher ideals?
Btw did you know that you are the most universally liked color?
You hate to make a fuss and yet you draw so much attention. How do you do it ?
It could be that you Blue emanate inner security and confidence.
i feel nostalgic so Blue you are my color too.

Color color what color do you choose has reached it's culmination now. And since my thoughts go helter skelter i must make an attempt this time to bring it to a harmonious close.

About beauty lots are there to say and one can go on and on about it but what i find the most apt is how Emily Dickinson has put across , " Beauty is not caused, it is."

The flowers and all it's colors will always remind me to cut the not- meant- seriously- but -uttered- nevertheless crap that i am so fond of repeating at the drop of the hat.

Can't help remembering Albert Einstein too. And he said " The pursuit of truth and beauty is a sphere of activity in which we are permitted to remain children all our lives."
Therefore how can i quit without some music which lets me be as i am. Nostalgic yes but more than ever still a child at heart.
Sometimes living each day happy go lucky as it comes and other times just too inquisitive for my boots..

You with the sad eyes
Don't be discouraged
Oh I realize
It's hard to take courage
In a world full of people
You can lose sight of it all
And the darkness so inside you
Can make you feel small

But I see your true colors
Shining through
I see your true colors
And that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors
True colors are beautiful
Like a rainbow

Show me a smile then,
Don't be unhappy, can't remember
When I last saw you laughing
If this world makes you crazy
And you've taken all you can bear
You call me up
Because you know I'll be there

And I'll see your true colors
Shining through
I see your true colors
And that's why I love you
So don't be afraid to let them show
Your true colors
True colors are beautiful
Like a rainbow
